Review Restaurants

Rate and Review Restaurants

You can earn free meals by reviewing the restaurants you’ve eaten at! Each approved review you submit earns you  1 EAT$ point. You can submit a review for EACH TIME you eat at a restaurant. Yes, this means you can review a restaurant more than once, but you must submit a complete and detailed review each time! The number of EAT$ points you can earn is only limited by the number of reviews you submit!

Step 1. Use the Overall Star Rating System to rate the restaurant

OVERALL STAR RATING: You submit your “overall rating” by clicking on one of the 5 star icons that are underneath the restaurant name. You can submit an overall “star” rating WITHOUT posting a detailed review, but you don’t get any EAT$ points if you don’t take the time to make specific review comments!

  • 1 STAR = UNHAPPY with overall dining experience and will not go back; would not recommend
  • 2 STAR = NOT IMPRESSED with overall dining experience, but will go back and give them another shot, would not recommend one way or another until tried again
  • 3 STAR = FAIR or AS-EXPECTED overall dining experience, but nothing special, would recommend to others
  • 4 STAR = PLEASANT overall dining experience, will go back, nothing to complain about but nothing extraordinary either; will recommend to others
  • 5 STAR = AWESOME overall dining experience, very pleased, will go back and will recommend to others with rave review and without hesitation

Step 2. Submit a Restaurant Review that includes your opinions and description of the following elements of your dining experience:

FOOD: i.e. freshness; portions; presentation; was the food as described on the menu?; did food meet quality expectations (ie. fast food aims for consistency  or alternatively, was food appropriately unique and tasty according to the cuisine advertised?_

SERVICE: i.e. how long you had to wait before being seated; attentiveness / availability of waiter/waitress service or ordering procedure; how long it took for your food to be served; did you get what you ordered?; how errors or problems were handled; family/child friendliness; was there enough staff on duty for the time of day or day of week?

FACILITIES: i.e. general atmosphere; cleanliness of dining room, kitchen, bathroom; comfort of seating, size of tables for number of chairs; ease of parking; capacity of waiting area; general ambiance

Refer a Restaurant

Refer a Restaurant

We’d love it when you help us spread the word about SaltLakeEATS to the restaurant community!  Shortly we will postcard size brochure that you can download and print with your EATS login username on it that you can give to your server (or directly to the restaurant manager/owner would be even better!). It lets them know that you will be posting a review of your dining experience at SaltLakeEATS.com and invites them to join and sign up for our economical restaurant advertising plan. If they put you down as the “referring member” when they join our community, and they immediately or later upgrade to a paid listing plan, you will get a $5 referral bonus (via paypal) - or you can opt instead for 10 EAT$ points on your member account. Yup - you heard right! You can earn 5 bucks just for leaving a card on your table at the end of your meal!

Redeem EAT$

What can I use my EAT$ point for?

Our community is still young, and so at this point, EAT$ points are just points.

The long term vision, however, is that as more and more Salt Lake restaurants join our “participating network” , that EAT$ points will become a way to get discounts and qualify for SaltLakeEATS Member only restaurant specials (like ‘buy one entree, and be able to use your EAT$ points to pay for an entree of equal or lesser value’). Our goal is to negotiate a value of approximately $1 USD = 1 EAT$ point. It’s also possible that participating restaurants will set their own value on EAT$ points redemption, which would create a situation where you could shop around for the best deal on EAT$ points dining…

But even though the program is still in BETA (that is geek-speak for “under development), and the option to use EAT$ points to save at restaurants is not quite available yet, we didn’t see any reason why foodie members could not begin earning them! Build up your EAT$ points account now, and when we come out of our BETA period and go live with the SaltLakeEATS Restaurant Network, you’ll be able to go out and treat yourself to great deals or free meals at your favorite restaurants!

In the meantime we plan to offer some great redemption options and contests within the SaltLakeEATS community. The bottom line is “he who gets the most EAT$ points will win - something! So keep your eye out for contest and redemption opportunity announcements!
